There is an audience for these older games and the day may come when fans can enjoy an official localization of the original PlayStation's LSD: Dream Emulator, but if it never arrives then there is at least a fan translation out there. While none may have reached the level of acclaim that LSD so easily acquired, nor even emulated its simultaneously mundane and insane playability, they did showcase the power. Moon: Remix RPG Adventureis being translated into English due to its connections to Undertale, while the excellent Collection of Mana localized Trials of Manainto English for the first time. LSD: Dream Emulator isn't Sato's only video game, evidenced by the likes of Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong Nou, Rolys-Polys Nanakorobi, and Tokyo Wakusei Planetokio. The popularity of Let's Play streams, coupled with the massive market reach of platforms like Steam means that there has never been a better time to bring these weird old Japanese games to the west.
If the rumors of the PlayStation 5's backward compatibility with the original PlayStation are true, then players might actually see some of these bizarre old Japanese games brought to PSN in the future. LSD: Dream Emulator is one of the most unique and unsettling experiences in video game history and it's a shame that it has never been released outside of Japan. There has been no shortage of weird games in 2020, but LSD: Dream Emulator is a special kind of bizarre, as it comes from a place that wasn't trying to shock or tantalize the audience for cheap clicks.

According to Siliconera, a patch has been released on that translates all of the Japanese text in LSD: Dream Emulator into English. It's now possible to play these in English, thanks to a new fan translation that has been released. One of the trickiest aspects of playing LSD: Dream Emulator were text sections written entirely in Japanse.
